vrecord throws a warning that Desktop Video 15.3 or later should be used, but these versions don't work at all

When runing vrecord 2026-03-02 there is a warning in the terminal saying to use Desktop Video 15.3 or later. However after installing these later versions Desktop Video no longer detects my decklink card. There's something very broken with Desktop Video 15.3. Vrecord appears to work fine with version 14.2.1 which I'm currently using. Can we silence this error and have the software suggest a range of versions that work well?

@iamdamosuzuki , I got Desktop Video 15.3 to work using Ben's helpful tip here: #957

It requires some really wacky system extension approvals and it took a couple tries for me to actually get it installed correctly. FWIW-- I did notice that the AES audio output gain is way too high for whatever reason now, but I haven't followed up with BMD about that yet.

This is good to know. I think that these later 15.3.x versions aren't compatible with Sonoma, because I can't get this to work at all. I think I will stay on 14.2.1 on my sonoma macs, but when I get new ones that inevitably come with Tahoe I'll put 15.3.x on them.

I still think we should quiet that ffmpeg warning. is that wise?
