🚨 Critical Issue: Local OS Failure & Loss of Unpushed Updates

What happened?

We experienced an unexpected operating system failure on a contributor’s laptop (GitHub: @majumnair1234-commits). Due to this failure, the OS had to be fully reinstalled.

Impact

  • ⚠️ Local development environment was wiped
  • ⚠️ Recent code changes were lost because they were not yet pushed to GitHub
  • ⚠️ These missing changes include some of the latest updates and improvements that are now permanently unavailable

Current status

  • ✅ OS reinstallation is required (or in progress)
  • ❌ Lost updates cannot be recovered from GitHub or local backups

Next steps / mitigation plan

  • 🔁 Reinstall the operating system and development tools
  • 🛠️ Rebuild the lost changes manually based on memory, notes, and existing issues
  • 🔐 Improve backup practices (more frequent commits, use of branches, and cloud/local backups)
  • 📌 Push work more frequently to GitHub to avoid future data loss

Additional notes

This issue highlights the importance of regular commits and backups, especially during active development phases.

We will keep this issue updated as recovery and reimplementation progresses.
