GSoC 2026: Interest in "Integration of eSim with OpenROAD Flow"

Hi OpenROAD and eSim mentors (Sumanto, Varad, Shanthi, and Aditya),

I am writing to express my strong interest in the eSim to OpenROAD integration project for GSoC 2026.

I have a strong foundation in C and Python backend automation, coupled with practical coursework in Logic Design and Verilog modeling. Because I understand both the programmatic integration requirements (scripting, parsing configurations) and the underlying digital logic and HDL, I believe I can effectively bridge the gap between the eSim schematic capture and the ORFS physical design pipeline.

I am currently setting up the eSim and OpenROAD environments locally to trace the current Verilog export process. Are there any specific test designs or existing Python/Tcl scripts in the ORFS pipeline you recommend I study first to prepare my proposal?
