Screen rotated improperly on reTerminal

With v1.1.6 on a reTerminal, plymouth is show in the correct orientation, but when the firstboot wizard launches, the display is roatated 90 degress CCW from normal, and the touchscreen input is rotated 90 deg more.

I initially tried to workaround by sshing in with the default credentails, and using wlr-randr --output DSI-1 --position 270, but while this rotated the display, the touch input was still rotated.

As a workaround, I started wayvnc, and completed the firstboot wizard over SSH-tunneled VNC.

Based on the situation you described, this issue seems to occur only during the initial startup wizard (firstboot wizard). It is currently unclear whether it will return to normal after the second boot, as you have already completed the initial configuration via VNC.

You may want to:

1. Check the system logs to confirm if there are any display-related error messages
2. Review the rotation settings in the /etc/xdg/weston/weston.ini configuration file
3. Try pre-configuring display parameters before the first boot.

If convenient, could you provide:

• The display-related sections from the system logs.
• Whether the rotation issue persists after completing the initial configuration.
• Specific image version currently in use

I believe the previous script wasn't adapted to the new system (TRIXIE), and some configurations weren't added by default (it's now adapted here). Based on your description, you might only need to change dtoverlay=reTerminal to dtoverlay=reTerminal,tp_rotate=1 in /boot/firmware/config.txt. You can refer to this .
