Task: Set up w3id namespace and redirect for these profiles

I have had a chat with @stain offline about this - @alex-ip and I are working on a Codemeta compatible RO-Crate software source code profile which will be more generic that the Workflow family of profiles.

I suggested something like https://w3id.org/ro/profiles/software/source-code/1.0

But Stian said more like: https://w3id.org/ro/software-source-code/0.1

In this case we will not be adding a schema with additional terms to this profile, but if we were, where would that go?

https://w3id.org/ro/software-source-code/terms/0.1 ?

Hoping @stain can help set this up for us anyway as an example that we can follow for the Language Data Commons Profile & Schema which is ready for a proper release.

If you went with second option then any terms could be either in https://w3id.org/ro/software-source-code/ or https://w3id.org/ro/software-source-code# -- avoid having versions in the namespace URI as the terms should (roughly) mean the same thing through-out even if at some point they are no longer in a versioned profile. The only terms you can't use then are 0.1 etc. for the versions of the profiles which would then be https://w3id.org/ro/software-source-code/0.1 etc.

And argument against your first suggestion https://w3id.org/ro/profiles/software/source-code/1.0 is that it leaves open what will be at https://w3id.org/ro/profiles/software and https://w3id.org/ro/profiles which I think are not relevant to this profile.

I'll let you decide. Would you push the branch to main so we can turn on GitHub Pages?

Hello,
I would avoid adding version info in the URI, as @stain explained (it is not considered a good practice). In owl we have the owl:versionIRI, which can be used to refer to the versioned URI of the resource without missing the general name. In schema.org you have schemaVersion, so you could do something like

<https://w3id.org/ro/software-source-code/>  a schema:Thing; 
      schemaVersion <https://w3id.org/ro/software-source-code/1.0.0/> .

And then have https://w3id.org/ro/software-source-code/1.0.0/> resolve to that particular version.

But I would always keep https://w3id.org/ro/software-source-code/ as the main version to go to.
