What counts as pure Swift app for MASTG-TEST-0087?

The test MASTG-TEST-0087 regarding the stack canary states:

Not necessarily required for pure Swift apps (Swift is memory safe by design).

I am wondering what counts as pure Swift app? Does it suffice if the entire application is written in Swift or must the developers make sure that all imported frameworks all also written in Swift?
