Black preview screen

Hi,

before I take further steps to buy or build such a plotter, I wanted to try out the Makelangelo SW.

I installed Version 7.76.1 it but I only see a black preview screen and I cannot import a picture and modify it into scribble art.
There is no canvas or paper, even so I changed the paper settings.

Any tricks how to use the program?

I use a MacBook Pro M1 MacOS 15.6.1

macbooks are currently a problem. I am trying to write a fall back video system that doesn't use the graphics card at all. much slower to draw but works for everyone.
