Laggy grub on 2k #76

Hey there! Just upgraded to a larger monitor (1080p to 2k), and I am experiencing a very laggy grub interface after setting the resolution to the new value.
I understand this is not a minegrub issue, rather a grub one or a simple limitation i'll have to live with, but I ask here in case the solution is known - after all, i assume people set this theme to their native resolutions.
