Dockerfiles are often described with maintainers, etc.
We should look into these as well.
Also, maybe the dependencies listed?

Both options are valid, since a label can be defined using the string you prefer, although the second one is the more correct approach. We should try to extract both.

Your proposal is good idea.
However, there are many more labels than authors. See https://github.com/opencontainers/image-spec/blob/main/annotations.md#pre-defined-annotation-keys
