Calling a form with parameters

How can I call a form with some default values?
Example: I want a button an an article full view (section_id=2) to call the form (of section_id=2) with some default field values, so that they are prepoulated already and the return path after saving the record would be the list view of section_id=2.
One of the parameter would be for a child field in section_id=2 to hold the id from the record in section_id=3

how can I create a specific return path and how to integrate some field default values ?

I found the fand and field_id parameter for the child field and how to get the return url. Are there other default parameters to prepopulate fields like category or title?
