Training event EDAM topics and keywords not present in json-ld format (but in json and api formats)

EDAM topics and Keywords that are in the catalogue are not present in the json-ld format pages, although these are available from the API.
This is a problem because TeSS is scraping the json-ld pages.

Example:
https://catalogue.france-bioinformatique.fr/api/event/740/ has "topics" with edam ontology terms, as well as "keywords", but https://catalogue.france-bioinformatique.fr/api/event/740/?format=json-ld doesn't have them. https://catalogue.france-bioinformatique.fr/api/event/740/?format=json has them.

We have in training materials edam topics and keywords in json, but we translate topics to "keywords" in in json-ld and thus lose the original keywords.

So how should I translate edam topics, and keywords. Note that after #323 keywords cannot be more than 10, maybe more readable for tess rendering ?

The question is also open for training materials, but here we focus on events for which there are no keywords at all in the json-ld.

Oh I see, we have Keywords and Topics (Scientific topics in TeSS), but BioSchemas only has Keywords. Could Keywords and translated Topics be merged, so that original keywords are not lost? If yes, we might have a problem with the limit on 10 in some cases. Maybe allow more for keywords related to training? Apparently no limit in TeSS...

The limite to 10 is only for the input, when producing the json-ld we do not have any limits.

I don't know if I can merge both when producing the json-ld.

• If I can't merge them, should I output, edam, or text-keywords ?

  • edam name and text keywords, and thus lose the uri

If you cannot merge, I would say output the text-keywords, since these were chosen as keywords. Unless there are no text-keywords, but there are topics, then output the topics (if doable).

If you can merge, I would say edam name and text-keywords. By the way, for training materials, it is presently the uri which is passed to TeSS (https://tess.elixir-europe.org/materials/training-rnaseq-bioinfo-part-genotoul-bioinfo). So maybe apply the same procedure as for events?

I found scraped events and materials in TeSS that have Keywords and Scientific topics. The BioSchemas property to use for the topics (edam ontology terms...) is "about", both for event and material. So, no need to merge!
