Canbus Node Addressing #2

I've been wondering about node addressing. In the use case of the PowerKit setup there will be multiple battery nodes which will require some kind of addressing setup for the CAN. I don't believe their is anything in the code base covering this but i wondered if it was something you'd discovered and might be able to explain?
I presume the master device is assigning a unique id to each device on the network. It would probably explain why simply replaying messages does not work.
