How to use "Stamen Design" maps with https

The map provider "Stamen Design" provides different URLs for http and https connections. When you want to use Stamen maps with https, you have to change leaflet-providers.js on line 208 from
url: 'http://{s}.tile.stamen.com/{variant}/{z}/{x}/{y}.{ext}',
to
url: 'https://stamen-tiles-{s}.a.ssl.fastly.net/{variant}/{z}/{x}/{y}.{ext}',
