Tracks on Recordings currently not stored in The Session #421

We currently have no way of distinguishing tracks on Recordings within The Session. The way The Session is organized, a Recording refers to a recording of an entire album. Each track on an album consists of one or more Tunes. One interesting query that we are currently unable to search for is "Which tune is most commonly recorded with other tunes?" We are also currently unable to query "What tunes have been recorded with [insert specific tune]?" The first query would be beyond what you can find through The Session's website; the second you can find through a Tune's page. I believe it would be worth figuring out a solution for how to store track data so that we can make queries such as these.

I mentioned a bit more information in issue #412, copied below:

"Recordings" in The Session appear to be complicated:

  • If you are on a tune's page (e.g. The Mull Rant) and click on "there are X recordings", you get to a page like this with a URL the same as that of the tune URL but with an additional "/recordings"
  • If you then click on one of the albums on that page, you get to the recording-specific URL but with a filter for that specific tune like this and the tune appears highlighted on the page
  • In theory, we could change our ontology to point to these versions of the page instead... would this be more useful to us since it would point specifically to the recording of the tune itself?
