Raspberry Pi OS compilation feasible?

Hi, I was wondering: Is compiling and running RapidRAW on something like a Raspberry Pi 500+ with Raspberry Pi OS (latest version is a port of Debian Trixie) feasible?
I like the spirit of RapidRAW of being lighter and faster, and The Raspberry Pi 5 got a decent GPU and enough RAM.
It would be awesome to have it running on the Pi!

I just tried wiith Flathub and it loads, I can see the thumbnails, but right from the start there is a loading/working indicator that nevers goes away. Besides that, the interface is very responsive, it just doesn't work :(

Can you try going to the settings and mess with them?

I tried on a Raspberry Pi 400 and the program opens, but the sliders have no effects on the photo and playing with these settings makes no difference.
On a Raspberry Pi 500+, with the latest Raspberry Pi OS, there is a driver error and the program does not start:

I gave it a last try by compiling the code on the Raspberry Pi 500+. and this time it worked, but a change on the sliders for a 4000x3000 image take like 5 seconds to finish at 1920px, and choosing 720px it's around 2 seconds. GPU it's at a 100%, so it seems to be the bottleneck.
Operations at a 100% zoom (like detail changes) take forever and the GPU is again at a 100%.
I had higher hopes, given that changes on RawTherapee are basically real time. It's a pity because I really like the UI and the general concept, but I guess it's too much for the Raspberry :/
