Why don't use ipfs/filecoin as the storage?

So that it can be free e.g if using IPFS as the storage.

Hi, the storage costs are only a portion of overall cost of running ethmail. This is an interesting idea to reduce the costs. I'll try to explore it.

Currently you can use ethmail for free and setup some email app (Thunderbird, email app on your phone, etc) to download your messages and essentially pay for your own storage. The only downside of this solution is that your email are only downloaded to one device. (There might be workarounds for this)
You can also import your email to gmail or any other email provider using POP3 and have them store your emails.
