Unable to open Civics Tree

Ran into this after researching Code of Laws - could not open civics tree to select next one, and no "next civics" were showing up on the on-screen list at the top left. Saving the game and reloading it allowed me to see "next civics", but still cannot access main civics tree. Some issues with game not able to advance to next turn. Compared to Vanilla-Civ 6, seems sluggish on the UI.

Unfortunately this mod hasn't been maintained since the end of July, so it's unrealistic to expect any fixes. The main developer seems to have completely disappeared, and another developer went defensive and even started preventing discussions and questions. However great their work was, it (at this location) is now dead. It's true that the official developers don't give a sh*t about modders, and caused huge issues with their "improvements" a.k.a Summer update and now Fall update.
