Wildcard blocking not working

Wildcard blocking (https://www.reddit.com/r/AskElectricians/*) not functioning as I would think is intended. I could be wrong.

I set that example domain on the blacklist. The pages are blocked when I refresh, but when I enter the subreddit from the homepage, I can access it. I can then refresh the page from there and it will be blocked again. I also tried putting the asterisk before AskElectricians/. Same behavior.

This could very well stem from a misunderstanding of wildcards and programming in general.
