Add some sort of monitoring system

Not sure what’s available out of the box for ansible (I can have a look at the options) but at the very least, we should have some feedback system that informs us about the state of the installation on each of the laptops (for example by sending/streaming the ansible logs to some pre-defined server).
Having a monitoring server would also make ssh’ing into the laptops easier (assuming that the firewalls permit it) as it would collect the IP addresses.

I think ara does a decent enough job to send the logs to a server. I have set up a private test server with this and will test it a little further. The client configuration needed is reasonable. The ara package needs to be installed and the ansible-pull service needs 3 environment variables so that it can find the plugin and the server.

I added ara to the package installation list. The paths will be different then in the env config.
Should we add this to the config for the VMs?
