Fork with local epub reading only

I was thinking of making a personal one with only local epub reading but it isnt exactly going as planned, is there a fork of this project in the wild that has the networking scraping and parsing removed.

How should i go about it, should i start removing network from app and appmodule first then start deleting the references and so on
