Description
- KDE 6 had regressions yet again when not using systemd to manage its services. While I use systemd, I hate the fact that random userland software depends on a specific init system. Desktop environments should be able to start themselves without relying on certain init systems like systemd. The huge problem with systemd user services is that they start upon login regardless of relevance.
Examples: systemd would start KDE services outside a KDE session when logging into i3 for example. It would also attempt to start graphical services in a tty session. This is just poor design and a reason I avoid systemd user services like the plague for anything other than some headless daemons that should always be running when logged in.
