Koreader sync confusion

So I have been trying to get the Koreader sync working with my Komga instance, and I am running into something I don't understand.

I am able to push updates to the server with the "Push progress from this device now" button in the menu, and the progress shows up in the web version of Komga. Great!

But when I press "Pull progress from other devices now" I get the error "No progress found from this document." Is this expected behavior? Should I be rooting around in the logs to figure out what's going on?

This is showing up for both epubs and for cbz files on two different devices.
