Alpine js Sort plugin suddenly stopped working.

Just installed Laravel Livewire Starter kit..!

Installed the npm package for sort plugin

npm install @alpinejs/sort

and imported the package in app js and initialized in Alpine. (Since Livewire 3 already comes with alpine js out of the box I didn't import the alpine. If I do vite throw error)

import sort from '@alpinejs/sort'

Alpine.plugin(sort)

Tried a simple html example but unfortunately it didn't work

Added the x-data and it was solved..!!!

  <li x-sort:item>foo</li>

  <li x-sort:item>baz</li>

</ul>
